5.0

Major releaseLatest release

A new integration, more control over your data, and findings that read cleaner.

DataDigger 5.0 adds Agillic as a new native integration, puts you in control of what counts as personal data before a discovery run even starts, and gives both the in-app report and its exported PDF a calmer, clearer redesign. Runs show an explicit verification stage instead of going quiet before completion, and past release notes are browsable without leaving your session. Charts are also considerably more reliable: every one now explains what it shows, and comparing two categories at once no longer produces a confusing, mislabelled chart.

New features

2 items

Connect Agillic as a data source

Agillic is now available as a native integration alongside Google Sheets — connect it once from the Integrations page and use it as a data source in any discovery run or schedule, just like a file upload.

Manual PII masking

A new layer on top of DataDigger's automatic PII detection: before a discovery run begins, you now see exactly which fields the intelligent detection flagged as personal data, and can mask or unmask any of them yourself. Automatic detection still does the heavy lifting — manual masking supplements it with full control and trust over what counts as personal data, every time.

Findings, redesigned

Findings now use a subtle colour indicator for risk, opportunity, and observation instead of a fully-coloured card, for a calmer read across a long report. Runs also get an automatically generated, descriptive title instead of a generic one, and 'analysis' has been renamed to 'finding' throughout the product for consistency.

A cleaner exported and printed report, with a supporting-data appendix

The PDF and print version of a report got the same design pass as the in-app view: the executive summary now opens on its own page, controls that only make sense on screen no longer appear in the exported file, and every report now ends with an appendix listing each finding's full result rows — the same evidence you can already expand in-app, now travelling with the file itself.

Release notes, without leaving your session

Past releases are now browsable from inside the app via the sidebar, so you don't need to log out to see what's new or catch up on something you missed.

A clearer picture of what a run is doing

Runs now show an explicit 'Verifying' stage as their results are checked, and if a run's results haven't been saved within 24 hours you'll see a clear alert instead of the run quietly disappearing.

Jump back to the top of a long report

A 'back to top' button appears as you scroll through a report, so you don't have to scroll all the way back up to see the summary or contents again.

Integration credentials are now encrypted at rest

Credentials for connected integrations (Google Sheets, Agillic) are now stored encrypted rather than in plain text, adding another layer of protection to your connected accounts.

Bug fixes

2 items

Charts now always explain what they're showing

A chart could previously render with no caption or legend, leaving readers to guess what it represented. Every chart in a report now ships with a plain-language caption naming the measure and dimension it plots.

Charts comparing two categories no longer duplicate or mislabel bars

A chart breaking a measure down by two things at once (say, by product and by day type) could previously repeat the same category across several bars with no legend to tell them apart. These now render as a single, clearly grouped chart, and the underlying chart-selection logic is considerably more reliable across a wide range of datasets.
